"The time has come ... if you are one of those folks who only stream music, or stream when you're on the move away from your physical copies please take note

After much deliberation and lip biting i've decided (along with select bands on the label roster) to upload some of the label catalogue to streaming sites as of this week

For now it's only three artists, Acid Mothers Temple, Hibushibire and Shit And Shine as they have the most releases on the label and a lot of them are now long out of print

Some of the other label artists already have stuff up on streaming sites themselves of course, such as Black Helium and Ivan The Tolerable etc and i'm going to add more myself in good time

What I would say, and I do hope it's already obvious to all, bands and labels do massively rely on physical sales to keep afloat. As a one man label operation myself, it's only the direct to customer sales that keep the label going. Shop/distro sales are hugely important themselves, but it is the direct me to you sales that keep things in the black, so if you do want to download something then please do consider buying it from the bands or myself via Bandcamp

Since that clusterfuck we call Brexit happened, and all the added ballache of shipping to Europe it brought with it, you wouldn't believe how much drop off sales wise it's had on not only Riot Season, but MANY other labels of a similar size i know of. We do talk about it amongst ourselves, and it's not looking good

What's even more alarming for most of us, is those missing direct UK to EU sales haven't actually been replaced by an upturn in folks buying them from our EU distro partners (in my case, that would be mainly Clearspot/Shiny Beast in the Netherlands for example)

I still sell a decent amount via them and other EU based distros who stock the label of course, but it's not the same level as it was pre Brexit. Mind you i think many of us are having to tighten our financial belts that much more these days obviously"

C'est pas parce que l'on peut tout avoir que l'on doit tout avoir....

En l'occurrence j'ai cd, démat, vinyle et comme beaucoup, la démat me sert avant tout de catalogue pour mes futurs achats cd ou vinyle. Ainsi j'ai "tout" dans le but d'avoir moins, puisque je n'achète uniquement que ce que je suis certain d'aimer.
