Infos sur ampli westrex 2331a
Bonjour,
Je dois récupérer un ampli WESTREX 2331a de 1962 équipé avec 4 tubes Mullard el34 et délivrant 60w sur le papier.. Ca vaut quoi à l'écoute ? Certains l'ont déjà utilisé ? Si vous avez des retours ou des docs je suis preneur.

2x60 watts avec un PP d'EL34 ... ça doit tirer sur les tubes.

Arguably, the worst driver design feature is following the transformer phase splitter (excellent balance) with a ganged volume control that variably destroys push–pull balance dependent on volume setting. If you insist on restoring and using these amplifiers, remove that volume control, but maintain the input transformer loading by substituting 100 kΩ 1% resistors.
Both amplifiers are built on a pig-ugly steel chassis that weighs almost as much as the transformers and chokes. If you find a pair of 2331-As, salvage the output transformers and power iron but rebuild it with driver circuitry worthy of that output transformer. If you find only one of the 100 W variant, contact this author.

Il est probablement excellent. 60w n'est pas énorme pour un double PP.
Les amplis de cinéma sont toujours très fiables.

et pour cause , car il ne fallait surtout pas qu ' ils tombent en panne en pleine projection ...

Au temps pour moi, je n’avais pas percuté que c’était un double push-pull...

For reliability the power supply uses 2 x GZ34 valve rectifiers per amplifier.
In 1962 these amplifiers sold for £55.0s.0d each compared to a Quad II mono valve amplifier at £15.0s.0d.
Both amplifiers are fitted with all Mullard valves, which have been tested full emission on an Avo mk 4 valve tester.
Valve line up- (per mono block) 4 x EL34, 2 x GZ34, 2 x EF86.

Quelle chance! Les amplis Westrex ne courent pas les rues surtout en 220/240v.
