Le préampli phono MC est monstrueux  (43,5 kg !)

Mais il y a le modèle HDG au-dessus de 63 kg...![]()

I built a preamp using salvaged transformers from an Ampex 300 tape recorder playback amplifier. One of the output transformers died, so I replaced both with Tango units. They killed the unit. I listened for a time to a single-ended PX-25 amplifier (with NOS Osram PX25's), driven by ML6 tubes with input, interstage and output transformers by Tamura. It was a dreadful sounding amplifier. Every tube amp I had in the house at the time, down to a 'lowly' Dyna SCA-35, absolutely trounced it. I have tried using Tamura transformers for converting the impedance of a Studer A-80 tape head to a higher value to make the machine compatible with tube electronics. I could never get good results until I switched to something else. These are just a few of the half a dozen or so examples of categoric failures I have had with Japanese iron. A number of my friends who have experienced both Japanese and vintage iron opt for vintage iron every time. The people I know who like Japanese transformers have never tried anything but Japanese transformers...
I'll take push-pull 6V6's with a rusty old Fisher 400 output transformer over any topology/tube combination built with products by the majors. An exception I have heard to my generalization is Audio Tekne. Imai-san painstaikingly winds 40 or more interleaved sections onto the highest grade American Permalloy core material. His transformers are excellent, but they are priced WAY above the Tango and Tamura offerings.
Cheers,
Jonathan Knigth
