Karen Gibbs, Window Panes, 1977
Infinity turn-on!
These superb Nautilus recordings have been selected as Infinity Reference LP's because of their special sonic qualities.
They will help you demonstrate the unique benefits of Infinity technology, as described in your Salesman's Pocket Guide to Infinity Speakers (And Why They Are The Way They Are).
Using the "Oh Daddy" and "Window Panes" tracks on the Karen Gibbs LP, and "Getaway" on Lee Ritenour, tell your customer what to listen for. These cuts superbly demonstrate:
The overall natural, lifelike warmth of instruments and voices (as opposed to the cold, edgy recorded sound most listeners are used to.)
The delicacy and transparency of all high frequencies (bells, high strings, cymbals) and the detail rarely, if ever heard before: (brushes on cymbals, articulation of fingering on guitar strings).
The detail of inner instrumental voices lost on other speaker systems: ("Thumb lines" of background horns; midrange presence of supporting chord structures.)
The full, clear "tight" bass response. Not muddy or veiled, or artificially "hyped" as in many speakers that become impossible to live with.
The breadth of frequency response. Very low to very high, all clearly delineated - not sacrificed one for the other.
Transparencv. The speakers themselves disappear. Instead, you hear the performers.
Accuracy and consistency of imaging. Instruments and voices appear in broad left-to-right plane, as well as dimensionally front to back.
Music seems to come not from the speakers, but appearing realistically in space. Imaging remains constant, not changing as you move left to right.
These LP's can help you demonstrate that an Infinity speaker at any price point is not just superior sound, but superior value.
